Likes: Lost, Misfits, Community, Parks and Recreation.

I have a huge place in my heart for Arrested Development and The Office and also I have an unhealthy obsession for movies in general.

So who’s judging this dog show? A panel of dog-loving film critics, entertainment journalists and entertainment media industry execs including: Linda Bell Blue, Executive Producer,Entertainment Tonight, Pete Hammond, Awards Columnist, Deadline Hollywood, Neil Stiles, President, Variety, Steve Pond, Awards Columnist, The Wrap, Ramin Setoodeh, Senior Writer, Newsweek/The Daily Beast, Claudia Puig, Film Critic, USA Today, Lynn Hirschberg, Editor-at-Large, W, Suzanne Marques, Entertainment Reporter, KCBS2 & KCAL9, George Pennacchio, Entertainment Reporter, ABC7 Eyewitness News, Wendy Burch, Weekend Anchor, KTLA Morning News, Leo Quinones, Host, KFWB’s Film Freak Movie Talk Show, Lilly Liu, journalist, Apple Daily (Hong Kong), HFPA, Vera Anderson, journalist, Cine Premiere Magazine (Mexico) HFPA and me, Elizabeth Snead, Contributing Editor at The Hollywood Reporter.
Frankly, we have a hunch that Uggie may have a major edge over his compeition. After all, he already played dead/cute onstage at the Golden Globes and posed in the press room with the film’s Globe statue. But while he’s the front-runner for films, there may be a real catfight between the Real Housewives and their reality TV dogs. We hear the housewive’s dogs can be real bitches.
Wonder if there will be fire hydrants on the red carpet? Have the nominees started sniffing out their doggie tuxs and gowns from Ralph Lauren and Burburry’s pet lines? Will they walk the carpet on a diamond leash from Harry Winston or ride in style in Hermes or Louis Vuitton carriers, toted by their publicists, costars, trainers or owners? No word on whether this year’s awards will be televised but I’d say next year it’s a natural for Animal Planet programming.
I’ve got to get busy and watch a lot of dog performances before I cast my bones, er, votes. Now I know how the Academy members feel. I’m already dog-tired.
